Shug and Spice

Hey Y’all.  I’m Laura aka “Shug.”  I’m a South Carolina native now residing in the stifling desert oasis of Phoenix.  Here you’ll find some of my most beloved recipes, which are very much a part of who I am.  When I start feeling that tinge of homesickness, the only remedy is a homemade red-velvet cake like Mama used to make, or a pan of Aunt Gay’s “cathead” biscuits .  It’s a good thing Mama and Daddy keep me well-stocked with Duke’s Mayonnaise (more on that later) and country ham.  Hopefully you’ll come back again soon…if the good lord’s willin’ and the creek don’t rise, that is!
